Generative artificial intelligence will have a revolutionary impact on shaping the next generation of journalism, so 18 journalists from Macedonia explored its potential for processing information and creating content at a training organized this month by the Institute for Communication Studies.

Participants thoroughly familiarized themselves with the basic concepts, usefulness, and functions of the Chat GPT-4 tool for generating and transforming texts, images, and videos. Through practical exercises, they directly examined the tool’s capabilities to create comprehensive and relevant content, realizing various approaches and techniques that can be used for journalistic purposes. The journalists also created attractive visual content that could complement textual narratives.

Through demonstrations and examples, participants were introduced to the latest achievements in creating multimedia content with the help of artificial intelligence and its vast potential for innovation in digital journalism. The training emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adapting to the technological environment, which is constantly evolving and imposing the need for more creative and diverse journalistic practices.

The training on using artificial intelligence in newsrooms was organized as part of the “Use Facts” project, supported by the British Embassy in Skopje.
