Who we are?
ICS is an academic, nonprofit institution and a leading research organization in the field of journalism and media studies, public relations and corporate communications. It was established in 2012 by the School for Journalism and Public Relations (SJPR). Since 2019, ICS and SJPR have consolidated their resources to make a vanguard education and research hub on communications and media at ICS.

The Institute of Communication Studies sees society as a interconnected system and therefore uses an interdisciplinary approach in its work, covering a wide range of areas. Our strengths are:
ICS has extensive experience in curricula development for Bachelor Studies, Master Studies, Specialist professional studies, short-term and mid-career courses in journalism, media management, public relations and strategic communication. Apart from this the Institute regularly organizes workshops and trainings for NGOs, government institutions, media and individuals on journalism, media literacy, academic blogging, PR, social media communication, public interest campaigns, photography and etc.
The Institute excels in developing strategic communication. As part of our consulting activates we develop communication strategies, crisis communication plans, campaigns and social media plans for our clients. ICS works with the Government of North Macedonia and Government Communications Service International (GCSI) on developing a Code of conduct for government communicators and Communication strategy and a Crisis communication protocol. As part of its on-going work to improve the communications skills and capacities of NGOs, civic initiatives and government organizations the Institute organizes trainings, seminars and workshops on PR, strategic and crisis management, social media etc.
The ICS team has highly experienced media professionals able to create and adapt media content for different media platforms. ICS produces short documentaries, podcast, vlogs, educational and informative videos, multimedia stories, video news stories and Q&A. Aside from the video production, ICS publishes news articles, investigative stories, features, photo stories and blogs. Since ICS is very active on social media, maintaining and managing 5 websites and 9 different social media accounts also makes quizzes, GIFs, infographics, interactive photos, graphics, educational photo post, posters and other types of engaging and interactive content.
ICS has experience developing international online programs (e-Profman and MicroMasters) that are designed to accommodate the needs of the international market and facilitate the access to high-quality professional development programs through virtual mobility. ICS has a vast media content production that includes free online educational resources and learning materials relevant to different areas of its work. Our online resources include online publications, tutorials, toolkits, blogs, videos etc.
The Institute creates and implements public interest campaigns. ICS is implementing the environmental campaign “Don’t ignore! React” in cooperation with universities, NGOs, civic initiatives and media outlets. Through the media content published on its websites and social media pages ICS pursues the institutions to be accountable, transparent and responsive.
The ICS team has a vast experience in event planning and management. ICS organizes international conferences, forums and panel discussions, seminars, trainings, workshops, educational camps and tours and promotional events.
