The Environmental Communication Programme started with more than 180 participants

More than 180 participants from 10 countries will be actively involved in environmental communication in the next six months. In January, they started studying the international online programme that is delivered by five HEIs – the Institute of Communication Studies (Macedonia), the University of Zagreb (Croatia), the University of Novi Sad (Serbia), the University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the University of Tirana (Albania).

In the first course, the participants learn how to communicate and interpret environmental data and facts correctly and clearly. They will gain knowledge and skills to recognise biodiversity and natural resources values, understand the source of the biodiversity loss and threats and use environmental contemporary rhetoric and terminology.

The five courses are designed both theoretical and practical, including collaborative online learning. The participants work interactively on different case studies and prepare team tasks weekly, led by professors who are specialists in the field.

The curriculum spans different areas: environmental governance, public participation, conflict resolution, risk communication, journalism, social marketing, and advocacy. Hence, the specialized online programme will open career and research opportunities across different sectors of society – the civil society, media and creative industries, academia, government, and industry.

The Online Programme on Environmental Communication is realised within the framework of the ERASMUS+ funded project “Mainstreaming the Environmental Communication through Online Learning and Virtual Mobility”.
