“FutureLit” Kicks Off – A Project Preparing Young People for the Future

The Institute of Communication Studies (ICS), in partnership with the Faculty of Management at the University of Primorska (Slovenia) and FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz, has launched the project “FutureLit: Empowering Digital Citizens for Tomorrow’s Challenges”, supported by the Erasmus+ programme for partnerships in higher education.

The project aims to strengthen future skills and digital competencies among students and young professionals aged 18–35 from North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Austria. Participants will develop skills in digital, media, and financial literacy, as well as leadership and strategic planning.

As part of the project, a five-month international online programme, the “Future Readiness Academy,” will be delivered for students and young professionals from the three countries. Through interactive modules, teamwork in mixed groups, mentoring by professors and experts, and work on real-life challenges, participants will gain practical knowledge and tools they can apply in their education and careers. The programme will culminate in the FutureX Online Summit, where the best solutions and ideas emerging from the Academy will be presented.

The project will not end with the Academy alone—it will also create three lasting online resources: an interactive futures literacy course, a practical guide to future-oriented learning, and case studies, which will be available to students, young professionals, and educators across Europe.
