The role of strategic communication in successful establishment of urban nature-based solutions
Urban Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) have emerged over the past decade as a key approach to addressing complex urban challenges. Promoted at the European policy level by the European Commission, NBS are understood as multifunctional interventions that integrate natural systems into urban planning in order to strengthen resilience, sustainability, and social well-being. The NBS are not solely technical or ecological projects, but socio-ecological transformations that require public understanding, stakeholder alignment, and continuous engagement. This document examines the role of strategic communication in ensuring the successful establishment and long-term sustainability of urban NBS.
