Report on the Survey on Sustainable Water Management and Oversight on the Use of Natural Resources
The purpose of this research was to obtain relevant data from the opinion of the citizens regarding the problems that are in the focus of the advocacy and lobbying campaign “Clear it up!”:
(1) sustainable use and protection of water resources; and
(2) inspection of the use with natural resources (mineral resources, forests, soils, and waters).
The aim of the campaign is to change government procedures and policies in these areas, as well as to raise citizens’ awareness of these issues.
The survey covered two aspects:
- The perception of the functioning of public institutions in the aforementioned areas, primarily the opinions of citizens on the transparency, inclusiveness and accountability of public institutions.
- Citizens’ views on specific measures in the areas in which the public campaign will be conducted (water resources management and inspection of the management of mineral resources, forests, soils and waters).
The public opinion research was conducted within the project “Connect the dots: Improved Policies Trough Civic Participation”, implemented by the Institute of Communication Studies, and supported by the British Embassy in Skopje.
