SEFER TAHIRI holds a PhD from the Department of Communications at New York University in Skopje on “The Impact of Political Parties on the Editorial Policy of the Public Service MRTV in the Period 1998-2006”. He completed his master’s studies at the Institute for Sociological and Political-Legal Research in Skopje on the topic “The influence of political parties in the editorial policy of commercial televisions in the Republic of Macedonia.”

In addition to being a professor at the Institute for Communication Studies, Tahiri teaches at the Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Communication at the Department of Communications at the University of Southeast Europe. He is a senior researcher at the Institute for Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of Albanians – Intercultural Sector and is the director of the Institute for Democracy and Development. Areas of academic and research interest include the media and politics, public relations, media awareness of diversity, and freedom of expression.
