Associate Professor Sefer Tahiri has a Ph.D. from the Department of Communications at the University of New York in Skopje on the topic "The Influence of Political Parties in the Editorial Policy of the Public Service MRTV in the period 1998-2006". He completed his master’s studies at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research in Skopje on the topic "The Impact of Political Parties in the Editorial Policy of Commercial Television in the Republic of Macedonia".
Apart from being a professor at the Institute of Communication Studies, Tahiri teaches at the Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Communication at the Department of Communications at the South East European University. He is a senior researcher at the Institute for Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of the Albanians - intercultural sector and is director of the Institute for Democracy and Development.
The spheres of his academic and research interests are media and politics, public relations, media reporting on differences and freedom of expression.
